Hi!
The school organized a trip to NTNU, the norwegian technologic and scientific university, for the students that have the same classes I have (technology, physics, math and chemistry). To make it short, we were there in three days. The first day we sat in a bus for 10 hours, driving to Trondheim where NTNU is located.
The next day we went to NTNU, and got some "fun facts".
-There is 20 000 students.
-They have a budget of 2,8 billion a year.
-That's all I remember.
We then split into two groups, 15 on each. Our group went to see a nano-lab. We dressed up in air-thight dresses and stepped into an airlock, and into the labaratory. We listened to a lady talking about a microscope they had, which could see atoms! It costed 2 millions, but was only 40 cm tall XD. She also explained about nano-tchnology.
After we had got out of our suits, we went up to see some virtual reality stuff. First we saw a 3D-movie, wich wasnt too great... But hen it was finished, we tried some really neat stuff! It was a pen that was connected by some arms to a machine, and you could move the pen in all directions. There was motors in the joints to provide resistance. Over this contraption there was a mirror with a 3D-image projected onto it by a CRT-screen. We were wearing special glasses, and what you saw on the mirror was a hand and what you were holding was a needle. Then when you poked the needle into the hand, you could feel the resistance of the flesh, and the needle stopped when it hit bones, and it just felt REALLY awkward!
Damn this journal is getting long. I'll try making the rest short.
When we had taken a look at the virtual reality, we visited the hospital that was a part of NTNU. We were taken into a room with a lot of shelves, and on these shelves were human and animal parts in liquid
There were brains, hearts, human heads, rats, rabbits, and even an entire human chopped into nice 2-cm parts, each part in its own container. Oh yes, and a gigantic 80*60*40 cm whale heart!
Later that night we went to a rotating restaurant that was placed on the top of a big tower BD It was fun! I think it rotated two times around its own axis on a hour. I ate fire-hot pizza with jalapeños and dipped in habanero (I love spicy food).
The next day was departure time, and most of the 10 hour trip went by playing cards on a table made of a blanket between two seats XD
So yeah, that's wht I have to tell you. I have some pictures from the trip too
